Face Detection
Face detection is the first step for face recognition. There are quite a lot of papers talk about the face detection in an image or from the video. Two real time dace detectors are recommend here, one is the famous "Object Detection Using a Boosted Cascade" by Viola Jones which is implemented in OpenCV, and the other is Rowley.
With this application, you can really watch how the face be detected on your home WebCam online.

This application is using the OpenCV for face detect in a big image.
The package contains a JNI2OpenCV.dll which makes it possible to create a similar java application of face detection like this one.

With this webcam face detect appliction, you can detect faces from a captured video. We use OpenCV technology together with
JAVA GUI inteface. A JNI2OpenCV dll is available. From this demo, you can see the faces being detected, being extracted, and being shown in another window.
